Karolina Zmarlak is a women’s designer collection, specializing in tailored modern design. This intern for Karolina Zmarlak will have direct day-to-day involvement with the designer and team for the development and production of Pre-Spring and Spring 2014 collections. Duties will include everything from inspiration and trim research, organizing samples and preparing line sheets, sample coordination for upcoming press and retail shoots, hands on development of press and marketing books, to sourcing of fabric and trim, and coordinating with factories and suppliers.

The applicant should be seeking a career in the fashion industry, with an eye for sophisticated, tailored women\'s wear design.

Immediate start date available. 2-5days/week, with minimum three month commitment. Will sponsor course credit upon request as internship is unpaid.

Proficiency in Adobe Suite and Photoshop/InDesign is preferred but not required.

Product Testing Intern

Internship description:
The goal of the Quality Assurance intern is to understand all aspects of quality assurance by supporting the Quality Assurance manager. The intern will gain knowledge of product labeling, industrial regulations, product testing of textiles and home hard good products. The intern will also learn how to troubleshoot and make concise business decisions.

Internships are paid at $13/hour.

Responsibilities:
Home Lifestyles QA/TD:
a. Assisting in creating the PSFs with testing protocols & measurements
b. Review product labeling
c. Issue/update pass/fail forms for Product Testing
d. Interact with various Quality Assurance Departments to assist in resolving QC issues for direct imports: issuing dispositions, reviewing product with QA issues, providing technical product information, following up on various products.
e. Communicate with agents/factories on various QA related topics/issues
f. Assist with daily responsibilities: filing, maintaining files, mailing & opening packages/boxes, measuring textile products, review hard-line products

Background required:
• Coursework in Sustainability/Production/International/Supply
• Textile Testing (Hardlines/Softlines) experience preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is a MUST.
• Interest in Quality Assurance is a plus

Intern Responsibilities:
- Maintain showroom and assist in on-going reorganization project

- Assist showroom director in buying for showroom (Selecting clothing from sample sales, ebay, etc.)
